What the “Gurus” Aren’t Telling You!

For many of us in business, we measure our success by the amount of money we make.

Money is only ONE measure of success, but it is not the entire picture.

Over the past several years, I have been following and learning from some well-known entrepreneurs. Some are 6-figure and 7-figure business owners. And, while I’ve learned some techniques and gained some knowledge, something was not clicking for me.

That should have been my first clue! 

At first I thought it was just me.

I dismissed it by repeating to myself what I was told, “Follow the model of those who succeed.”

I do agree it is important to follow those who emulate the success you desire to have.

Instead of listening to my instincts, though, I opted for the “just work harder” route, which lead to challenging situations, complete frustration and less than ideal results.

My Planning Crazed Freedom

I am planner. I schedule everything; from client sessions to business meetings to dentist appointments and pedicures. Yep, I even plan time to plan. 

I receive so much guff from my family and friends about my tendency to plan everything. 

So much so, that when I found out that I was pregnant with twins, over 8 years ago, my family roared with laughter! They could not believe that I, of all people – the planner in the family – would be pregnant with twins! They got a kick out of something that happened that was not in my plan.

No, that was NOT part of my plan! 

In fact, it rocked my world on SO many levels.
